I ♥ Faces-Texture

This week is texture week over at I heart faces. I am a sucker for any amazing natural texture. Nothing excites me more than driving around looking for an old wall or abandoned building. You can also add texture to a photo after you've taken it. I love this photo of my daughter, it is SO her. She is a laugh out loud kind of gal. In this photo I did add a bit of outside texture, but I think this old garage door's texture speaks for itself...what do you think? I ♥ Faces- We Are Family

It's family week over at I heart faces. I wasn't sure which photo to post. I thought about putting up one of my client's photos, but I always go back to MY family photo. My in laws recently left for an 18 month mission to Africa. They live near us so my kids are used to seeing them every week. We knew the time was coming for them to leave and we made a photo album with all sorts of love notes in it for them. In this photo my mother in law has her grandkids surrounding her as she looks through it. I heart my family and I love every moment of being with them. There is so much emotion in this picture from everyone and I always smile when I see it. To see some more family shots visit I heart faces.

Introducing Evan

I was able to go and take some photos of baby Evan the other day. He is now almost 2 weeks old and thought that he'd rather be awake the entire time than sleep. Despite the lack of sleepy newborn photos we were able to snap some great shots. I don't recall ever photographing a newborn who was so alert and awake. Baby Evan has 2 older siblings who were extremely photogenic. Big sister was very cooperative and I think I got more pictures of her than baby Evan! Enjoy your sneak peek Amanda!

I ♥ Faces- Best face photo

Okay so here are the rules for this weeks' contest: They want you to submit your best face photo taken in December or January. I took Kali out last week to work on my I heart faces logo project, little did I know my new current favorite photo would come from it! My Kali girl was feeling in a particularly cooperative mood so I ran with it. I am in love with this photo. It is so her. From her sweet smile to her bright eyes or the fact t hat she has to make sure her freshly painted nails are right by her face so everyone will notice them...This one is definitely canvas worthy. I have fallen in love with this blog! There are so many talented photographers who share such creative ideas. I feel like I have stretched myself in my creative view while participating with i heart faces. This week their photo challenge is to incorporate their logo into your photo. Beautiful day in January

One of my dear friends asked if I would take photos for her and I jumped at the chance! I must say I have never seen 3 people with better skin or smiles than them! What a fabulous, fun and easy shoot this was...even with Justin having his moments of goofing off!

Starting off the New Year right!

I woke up this morning and got on my computer and was pleasantly surprised! One of our photos from the hilarious photos outtakes won! Thanks so much to the Bates family for being extra hilarious and making this happen! A little math...at 5 entries a person there were almost 1400 entries and they only picked 15 to win..pat pat.
